PASSPORT REQUIRED
Check your passport expiration dates as soon as you start planning a trip, and remember some countries – including most of Europe – will require that your passport expiration date is at least six months away. A passport is the only acceptable form of identification for international travel. If you aren’t carrying your passport, it’s virtually impossible to enter another country by airplane or ship without being denied entry. In addition to identifying yourself through your photo and signature, passports are marked with a unique number called an “international standard serial number,” which allows customs officials to access your personal information quickly. So, if you get left behind at one of your ship's international destinations or, there is a medical emergency and you're not able to get back on the ship then you will have to catch a flight back home. On Wednesday July 17, 2024, Virgin Voyages started new Bar Tab purchase options, giving their Sailors more flexibility to create a drink package that suits their needs.
The following tiers will be available to purchase:
$200 Bar Tab: Extra $25, total $225 (12.5% bonus)
$300 Bar Tab: Extra $50, total $350 (16.7% bonus)
$500 Bar Tab: Extra $100, total $600 (20% bonus)
$750 Bar Tab: Extra $175, total $925 (23% bonus)
$1000 Bar Tab: Extra $250, total $1250 (25% bonus)
Bar Tab FAQ
1. Where can I use my Bar Tab?
Bar Tabs can be used at all onboard restaurants and bars, and on Caribbean itineraries, can be used for drink purchases at The Beach Club at Bimini.
Indulge in a drink pairing with your dinner, a poolside Piña Colada, or a fresh-pressed juice to start your day!
2. What can I use the Bar Tab on?
Bar Tab covers premium beverages like alcohol, beer, wine, non-alcoholic beers, and mocktails. It also includes specialty coffees at the Grounds Club, fresh-pressed juices, smoothies, and milkshakes.
You can also use your Bar Tab to Shake for Champagne!
3. What is Shake for Champagne?
Shake for Champagne lets you celebrate with on-demand bottle service. Just shake your Virgin Voyages App to reveal a hidden button. Tap it, and enjoy Möet Chandon Impérial delivered to you, wherever you are on the ship!*
For the safety of our Sailors, there are a few areas we won’t deliver Champagne. Treadmills don’t mix well, so we don’t serve alcohol in places like our gym areas or the Steam room. We also won’t interrupt shows in our theater to deliver Champagne.
4. How much is Shake for Champagne?
It is $105 USD and includes two Champagne flutes and a bottle of Moët & Chandon Impérial (750 mL) on ice.
5. What beverages are already included?
Your voyage fare includes essential drinks: still and sparkling water, non-pressed juices, sodas, sachet teas, and drip coffee.
6. Can I use my Bar Tab to purchase bottles of wine or spirits on board to take home with me?
No, the Bar Tab can only be used towards for-charge beverages to be consumed onboard the ship or at the Beach Club at Bimini. It cannot be used to purchase packaged items like coffee bags, wine, or bottles of spirits to be taken off the ship.
7. What happens if I don’t use all of my Bar Tab?
Bar Tab is use-it-or-lose-it, so any amount left over at the end of your voyage will not be refunded to you.
If you have extra funds, you can use your tab to purchase drinks for other Sailors!
8. I don’t drink alcohol, is Bar Tab still worth it?
Yes! While we have all your essential drinks covered, our extraordinary bartenders and mixologists can create delicious mocktails and virgin-ize any existing cocktails on the menu. We also carry non-alcoholic beer, wine, and bubbles!
Not to mention, you can use your bar tab on fresh-pressed juices, smoothies, milkshakes, and specialty coffees. CHEERS!

With Wi-Fi included on every sailing, you can show off share the view with your home crew, find your newest best friends online, or check in on your email (look, we get it, sometimes it’s hard to *fully* let go) — because, let’s be honest, in this day and age, Wi-Fi should be considered as essential as water.

There are plenty of ways to rock The Band based on your style. Wear it as a bracelet, on your belt or simply tuck it in your pocket, we'll give you The Band as a keepsake no matter how you want to carry it. However, if you prefer a key card, we'll have some on standby at the terminal. Please note, fun extras like Shake for Champagne, ShipEats on the pool deck and quick access to events is not available with a standard key card.
